I have one of my client terminating a 401K plan, however there be a spin off and part of the participants from the terminating plan will be moved into a guardian plan. Any idea what a Guardian plan is and will this impact the termination by any way?

Is there any website or links that will explain the termination procedure that one needs to follow when the plan is part of a controlled group. Basically can a plan that is part of a controlled group can it Terminate?

I have a terminating plan which I believe is part of a controlled group. The company had a 401k plan and 4-5 years back there was a spin off and some participants were moved to the subsidiary company and set up another 401K plan. now they have decided to terminate the subsidiary company 401K plan, can this be part of the controlled group? if its a controlled group I believe they will not be able to terminate the plan but just do a plan-to-plan rollover. will this be appropriate? Also one participant has rolled over the loan from the terminating plan to the parent company.

What is a controlled group? and when a plan be considered a part of the controlled group? also can a plan which part of the control group Terminate?

one of plan is terminating due to acquisition (Stock) sale date was 12/15/2018, however there is still employees contributing into the terminating plan. Can the contribution come into the plan? will it not become a successor plan?

What is a Custom Stable value fund? why do these funds require a 12 month PUT? how do these funds function?

This is not a merger, the company has two plans one MPP and another is profit sharing, so in this case be it active or terminated they can not transfer into the profit sharing plan unless they plan document allows? is that correct?

one of the terminating plan has a MPP and a profits sharing plan. They want to terminate the MPP plan and participants have been given an option to move the balance into the profit sharing plan, however this option is only for Active participants and not Terminated participants, can terminated participants also rollover the balance into the profit sharing plan? will it become a successor plan? will they be able to terminate the MPP plan?
