fidu Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 Can someone please give me a simplistic explanation of what Qualifying Employer Real Property and Qualifying Employer Securities are. THANKS in advance.
david rigby Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 Not sure if this is what you want, but here is the link to DOL regs. http://www.dol.gov/dol/allcfr/Title_29/Par...rt_2550/toc.htm Try subsection 407d-5. fidu Posted March 18, 2002 Author Posted March 18, 2002 Thanks. So its just stock of a publicly traded company that is owned by the plan?
fidu Posted March 18, 2002 Author Posted March 18, 2002 or is it publicly traded stock of the sponsor, which is in turn owned by the plan??
david rigby Posted March 18, 2002 Posted March 18, 2002 The latter. The plan is limited in owning stock of its sponsor. Here is the text of the applicable ERISA section. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/29/1107.html. Subsection (B)(1) points out that this restriction does not apply to an individual account plan.
