Guest CCarter Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Wondering if Dental fees incurred by participant's can qualify under the Safe Harbor reasons for taking a hardship? Participant already has a loan out and is having a difficult time paying it back. Thank You!
Guest Robin Vatalaro Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 Just off the top of my head, my understanding is that medical expenses that would normally qualify as deductible on Form 1040, Schedule A, do qualify for "medical" under the hardship rules. I do know for a fact that dental expenses are deductible on Schedule A (subject to income and other limitations, of course).
