Guest tcunagin Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 I have a top heavy age weighted defined contribution plan. Is a minimum 3% contribution required if no other contributions are being made for the year?
Guest cease Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 If there is no employer contribution being made for the year, then the TH minimum contribution of 3% is not required. Age-weighted is just one type of an allocation method used to provide employer contributions to participants.
Lynn Campbell Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Is this a 401k Plan? If so, are there any 401k deferrals being made to the Plan? These are considered Employer contributions and can trigger top heavy.
