FundeK Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 If you were in the business of approving hardships, what kind of supporting documentation would you request to approval a hardship for medical expenses? Would an Explanation of Benefits suffice? How about a letter from a collection agency? Would you always require a bill stating the type of service rendered and date service was performed? Thanks!
RCK Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 We are in the business of approving hardships, and we nearly always rely on the EOB. Without that, we would probably take a letter from a collection agency. A detailed bill would definitely not do it--we neet to guarantee lack of insurance coverage. Note that we hardly ever have uninsured employees, so a total lack of medical coverage is not an issue. I'm not sure how we'd go about proving that there was no insurance. RCK
