Guest Dianne Day Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 If John was terminated in 2003 and his employer agreed to pay him severance for a year can he take a distribution before the end of his severance?
david rigby Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Normally, severance of employment is an event that permits distribution. John should probably check the terms of the plan document. Perhaps the SPD will help also. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
