Guest nps Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 We currently have a client (a bank) that offers proprietary mutual funds in pooled accounts. We are trying to locate a company to write a daily valution program for the bank that would enable them to offer a 401(k) daily val platform of their own to their clients. In the end, they would like to be able to offer a product similar to other investment companies daily recordkeeper products. Does anyone have any suggestions, or ideas of where I could look for other suggestions? Thank you.
ljr Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Before you go further, you may want to check the June issue of PlanSponsor. The Web site is Plansponsor.com. You will see that people are getting out of not into the participant recordkeeping business. You will also see the names of the leading providers of this service and maybe one of them can help. It would probably be a bad idea for your client to get into recordkeeping. Best of luck!!
david rigby Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Several categories here http://benefitslink.com/yellowpages/ may have companies who can be engaged as a subcontractor. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
K-t-F Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 What about BenefitStreet and ExpertPlan. As a small TPA I considered one of these companies to do the "back office" behind the scenes stuff. I decided to not get into the daily val admin. My typical client wasn't suited. I am sure they would create a plan for you... If you want my contacts email me. BenefitStreet called me today as a matter of fact. Its not easy being green
Demosthenes Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 How large is the book of business, number of plans, total participants? What is a typical plan configuration interms of numbers and types of funds, complexity of design? Is it model, prototype or individually designed plan documents? All this and more go into the selection of software for the DC business. If you'd like to email me, I can send you a draft "Request For Proposal" that is designed for institutions looking to outsource the servicing of thier defined contribution business. It would be readily adaptable for a software vendor search.
Guest Boilerburm Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Has anyone evaluated Expert Plan or BenefitStreet lately? Also have heard of Alerus and Newport. Would be interested to hear from anyone who uses any of these people to help offer an open architecture solution.
