Guest alabama Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Does anyone have old C3 exams? ASPPA no longer sells them.
Harwood Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Are exams from December 1996 to June 1999 of much use in the age of EGTRRA? If so, contact me.
Guest quinn the car fixer Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 might not be a bad idea to try to get old exams. the c-3 consists of fiduciary issues and PT's and distributions. (not much of the above was changed/affected by egtrra)
david rigby Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 IMHO, old exams are always useful in the study process. Even if the topic seems out of date, it can usually be modified without significant effort, and (therefore) re-used. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Tom Poje Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I suppose the old exams are good practice for getting a feel of the type of questions that are asked. I had planned on taking the c-3 back in 1999, but the work load just never allowed me to really get the time. I did finally take C-3 in 2003 and get the CPC, but it was the ASPPA cram session that got me by thing. I think just sitting in for 4 sessions of intense review (eyes glazing over, brain begging for mercy) convinced me that I really had a good grasp of the material - that did more for me that looking at the old tests. And being able to take the test only a few weeks after the cram session really did the trick.

Guest alabama Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Thanks for the links, Harwood. Any chance I can still get those old tests? If so, can you please contact me. I see that your email is private. Thank you.
