Guest lmccormick Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Any ideas who is going to be offering these? I'm think about a small business in particular. I know several large brokerages offer small employer plans; Fidelity Investments, Vanguard, etc.... I've not heard much about them considering they're authorized in 2006.
Guest willow Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I would think from a competitive point of view, most 401(k) vendors will offer these, but not all will be ready for a 1/1/06 date. Since the Roth does not add dollars to the equation (it shifts the dollars around), the vendors are not as excited about this as say the catch-up provision which potentially added dollars flowing into retirement plans and hence to the vendors. I have a question to the group... Can Employer matching be made of the Roth 401(k)?? and do you have a link to a reputable website for the answer? I checked the IRS website and could not find an answer. I have seen web based content that says yes it is matchable and no it is not matchable. I have also seen where the Roth portion can be matched, but with pre-tax dollars. Thanks for your input!
