Guest kjk Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 We no longer wish to maintain our volume submitter specimen plan. Does anyone know what we have to do to discontinue it? Is there any guidance regarding what kind of notice must be provided to adopting employers, etc.? Thanks.
Guest kjk Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I'll offer my own reply! After reviewing Rev. Proc. 2005-16, it appears that there is a very specific procedure for M&P plans (see Section 10) and also for VS plans that have been amended to permit the practitioner to amend on behalf of adopting employers (see Section 15.06), but otherwise, VS practitioners do not seem to have any formal (technical) notification or other responsibilities. They do, of course, have the responsibility to notify adopting employers of the need to amend their plan when appropriate. (See Section 15.02, for example).
