Guest cs006b Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I have a prototype document client who has a 401k w/ Profit Sharing component. They would like to make an integrated PS contribution each year. The problem is that they wish to exclude certain forms of compensation from the calculation and their prototype document does not allow for a definition of compensation that requires 401(a)(4) rate group testing (which would be required here because of the comp exclusion). The options include: 1) use a non-integrated formula which allocates less $$ to the HCE's 2) switch to a custom doc which means added costs Can anyone think of another option they might have within a prototype environment that I might have missed? Thanks!
could be me maybe not Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 1. Just because yu have a comp exclusion doesn't mean that rate group testing is required. You can test it under 1.414(s). Might that be an option under the present document? 2. Volume submitter document or some other more flexible doc short of custom.
Guest TGeer Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Right. Try to get it by as a minor modifier.
