Guest MEWilson Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Has anyone worked with a search firm locating missing participants that you can recommend at a reasonable fee??
Guest lhinson Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Just curious, did you try the IRS letter forwarding program? If you are trying to track down missing participants the IRS will forward up to 49 letters in a 12 month period for free (over 49 is a little pricey). My clients that have utilized this service did meet with varying degrees of success.
Guest MEWilson Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Thanks for the inquiry; however I am actually just interested in finding a reliable search firm if anyone has used one.
Guest jetfaninmn Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 The IRS program is a great tool for our firm.
stephen Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I have clients who have had success with www.accurint.com
Beltane Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 We have used www.apscreen.com sucessfully. Phone number is 800 277 2733. I think its $ 10 per search.
Guest susanm@pbinfo.com Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 My company Pension Benefit Information locates missing participants. We perform a comprehensive search that uses addresses obtained from credit reporting agencies, verifies the participant is alive, looks for a beneficiary if deceased, and uses the IRS Forwarding Service to locate participants that are not active in credit databases or do not respond. We provide call center support and a postage paid envelope to make it esy for the participant to respond. I will be happy to send you additional information. You can email me at susanm@pbinfo.com.
Guest Wolves1962 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I have used the yahoo search locater and it was worked quite well.
RCK Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 We used the Berwyn Group, www.berwyngroup.com. We had quick turnaround and decent reliability of results. I seem to recall they had a "budget" version that we used, and more intensive and expensive version that we did not try. Results first time were good enough that we went back to them the second time.
