Hi! I'm a FT pension admin for a small company (<100), 4 years of experience, in the process of finishing QKA designation and was wondering what other companies are paying? Thanks for your response.

If you obtain a QKA within your first four years inside the industry, then you are ahead of the curve. Many times, you can simply look in the yellow pages for all TPA's. Many companies have extra positions that they never advertise because of the influx of resumes.

On the flip-side, there's always companies looking for GOOD talent. Your issue would be that you'll probably find yourself surrounded by incompetent people who do not share (or even understand) your enthusiasm.

It's exciting to see someone else making serious progress for a career in this business. I suggest that you look at the job postings here to get an idea of the kind of jobs that exist and the qualifications they are seeking. If you want to remain in industry (rather than work for a provider, e.g. TPA or fudn company), you may find your compensation limited at small companies. Depending on where you are and whether you are willing to consider a move, there are many firms that are looking for good people. Think about visiting the websites of some of the big players, e.g. Fidelity, American Funds etc., and see what positions they have posted. You may need to make a move to improve your situation.

Depending upon your skills, attitude, and geography, I would think that $35 - 50K range w/b reasonable. What is your impression?

I see other QKA's getting perhaps more, but your experience is low.

Good luck!
