Guest lskin Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Can top heavy contributions have a vesting schedule?
stephen Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Yes- 3 year cliff (0,0,100) or 6 year graded (0,20,40,60,80,100) are allowed under top heavy plans.
david rigby Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Any vesting schedule at least as generous as either of those mentioned by stephen. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
ERISAnut Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Stated differently, There is NO requirement that the top-heavy minimum contributions be 100% immediately vested.
