Guest Iwonder Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Does anyone know of any guidance out there addressing being compensated in foreign currency while participating in a domestic corporation's 401(k)?
Guest mjb Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Q: how is the foreign currency contributed to the plan which requires conversion to US $ which may not be premitted under currency exchange laws of country where employee works. Most foreign countries impose restrictions/criminal penalties on ability of their citizens to convert their currency to US dollars to prevent devaluaton. You need to consult with a expert on currency exchange before worring about 401k aspects of this transaction.
