Guest lindamichals Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Need to confirm that employee who joins union during plan year still receives match and profit sharing contribution for part of year he was non-union. Plan calls for EOY and 1000 hrs both of which employee would have satisfied at year end. Plan excludes union employees from participation
Jim Chad Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 This is detail that hopefully is in the document. But if it is not there, I would allocate to them because 1,000 hours and last day usually refers to employment with that employer. FWIW, I have never seen these terms used for a division or includable class.
RTK Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I second Jim's comments on the document. I have documents in the office that have been drafted to include and exclude such a union employee from the allocation. I'd guess that most of them include the union employee in the allocation for whatever that is worth.
