Guest MikeAIGFA Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Good Morning, I wanted to know if anyone knows of a good source for someone (myself) who is looking to improve their knowledge in the Plan Design area. Things like types of plans, Plan Docs, Testing/5500, Safe Harbor, etc. I have an extensive background in investments and really want to shore up my knowledge in areas I am lacking. Any online courses, etc Thanks! Mike
JanetM Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Not sure about online courses. Mckay Hockman and Sunguard/Corbel have great websites. Benefits Link site is awesome. JanetM CPA, MBA
John Feldt ERPA CPC QPA Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Attend a Sungard plan design conference. Then, if you're DB savvy, attend a Larry Deutsch symposium.
Kimberly S Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 ASPPA's Retirement Plan Fundamentals course is also an excellent learning tool. John, are you trying to scare him to death by referring him to Larry? (yes. I've attended)
four01kman Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Practising Law Institute used to have a seminar called Understanding ERISA: An Introduction to Basic Employee Retirement Benefits. It provides a great amount of information in the areas you are looking to improve. Jim Geld
