Alex Daisy Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 A Participant wants to rollover his IRA to his 401K. Is this allowed? I know you can rollover over from a 401k into an IRA, but I was not sure about the opposite way.
WDIK Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 You can if the plan allows it. ...but then again, What Do I Know?
Appleby Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 …and if the IRA includes after-tax amounts, don’t forget that those amounts must be left in the IRA as they cannot be rolled to the 401(k) plan. Guest TooMuchFreeTime Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Wouldn't after-tax IRA amounts be permitted for plans with a after-tax feature? Also, remember that the MRD rules of 401(a)(9) continue to apply and may restrict the ability to rollover an IRA into a qualified plan.
