Guest Laura Millwood Posted November 9, 1998 Posted November 9, 1998 Does anyone know what DOL Form EBS-1 is for? Where can I find it? I have checked on the DOL and IRS websites, but have found nothing. The IRS is asking for this from one of our clients. Thanks!
LCARUSI Posted November 10, 1998 Posted November 10, 1998 It's a defunct form. It's been gone so long, I don't even remember what form replaced it. Maybe the 5500? I recently assisted a client with an IRS audit for 1994. They requested an EBS-1 as part of standard computer-generated form letter. We indicated "not applicable" on the response and that was the end of it. I don't know the form's last year. Maybe someone else does.
Guest Bill Posted November 10, 1998 Posted November 10, 1998 Yes, the EBS-1 was the annual report required by ERISA that eliminated duplicate filings with the IRS and DOL. It was replaced by the more comprehensive 5500 but that was YEARS ago. I remember doing EBS-1's but can't recall when it changed, late 70's I think.
