Time period for contacting terminated employee

Is there any specific time period in which an employer has to contact a former employee about the status of his/her 401K plan? It has been over 90 days since I was terminated and have not been contacted by my former company as to what I'm going to do with my 401K money.

Why are you waiting for your Employer to contact you? Why don't you contact them?

I think it would be a nice policy for your Employer to contact you shortly after termination and layout your distribution options for you, but I don't see it as a requirement. You are a continuing participant in the Plan, and you have an SPD which should should explain your options under the Plan now that you have terminated employment.

It's a RETIREMENT PLAN. Some won't contact you until retirement age, or even 70-1/2. LCARUSI is right, contact them.
