austin3515 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Maybe notice was sent out in November 2007 for the 08 plan year. Anyone have a notice I can use today to announce the decision to go safe harbor? Austin Powers, CPA, QPA, ERPA
Kevin C Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 The supplemental notice I use is the same as the regular 3% SH notice except 1) it is labeled as a supplemental notice and 2) the paragraph explaining the SH non-elective contribution starts with the sentence "For the 2008 plan year, the Company amended the Plan to provide a safe harbor non-elective contribution."
Bird Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 We combine the notices - all the "maybe" stuff comes first and at the end we add this: SUPPLEMENTAL NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES This notice applies to the plan named above for the (current) plan year ending December 31, 2008. Your employer WILL contribute 3% of compensation for all eligible participants. This contribution will be 100% vested as soon as it is made. Ed Snyder
