Hello all-

Does anyone have any recommendations for any online services that my company could sign up for (paid, free or otherwise) to use as a reference tool for researching any kind of retirement plan administration question.

Thanks.

I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.

CCH (part of Wolters Kluwer) has, or used to have, a Plan Adminstrator's Guide intended for employers. It may be available in CD format. (Phone: 1-800-449-9525; hr.cch.com)

Not at all. It is a ringing endorsement of this website.

I use it often as a way to narrow down a search for information; for example, searching for an approximate date when so-and-so happened.

I doubt that any sarcasm was intended. I almost made the same respponse with no such thought, just pointing out the obvious.

I have also used Tax Analysts (sp) and BNA Management Portfolios.

for a cost, before BenefitsLink I had used this, but its been too many years for me to comment now. back then they had many good people involved: (Pension Information eXchange

http://pixpc.com/

also TAG, same type of deal as above, there is a fee. I know even less about them. don't even know what there website is or what the acronym stands for. Technical something or other

of course there is ASPPA. they provide a number of webcasts, education materials, etc.

and NIPA (its similar to ASPPA)

http://www.nipa.org/ which I know nothing about

but for the cost, BenfitsLink. (Its free, but I guess you get what you pay for) Many years ago the Grand Poobah Dave Baker asked me to help out, so that is my connection - for better or worse.

TAG = Technical Answer Group, and is part of CCH/Walters Kluwer. There is a fee, but I'm not sure what it is. They have a database of Q&A's and you can submit to them your questions and you'll get an answer in a day. I have found that they are pretty good.

I have heard that Plan Sponsor is helpful.
