RDY2RTR Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I am working on a multiple employer plan. It consists of a number of controlled groups. In the past we have tested (ADP, ACP and 410(b) each controlled group separately. Is it okay to test them together? I've read a lot about aggregating multiple plans of one employer or controlled group, but I can't seem to find anything in which I have multiple employers and one plan. Thanks in advance.
J Simmons Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Nope. You have to test the MEP in segments, per control group, affiliated service group and ungrouped employer. Below Ground Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 We do a lot with MEPs. Mr. Simmons is 100% right. In fact, ALL testing is based on the "units" (as defined by Mr. Simmons) as separate enties, including Top Heavy. If, however, the TH Minimum is not provided to a unit that is Top Heavy, ALL units must do the Minimum. Just thought I would add that for you. Having braved the blizzard, I take a moment to contemplate the meaning of life. Should I really be riding in such cold? Why are my goggles covered with a thin layer of ice? Will this effect coverage testing? QPA, QKA
RDY2RTR Posted September 23, 2009 Author Posted September 23, 2009 Thanks so much for your responses. It makes sense to me now.
