Guest JBarn Posted August 31, 1999 Posted August 31, 1999 My document specifies "Allocated method plus supplemental discretionary match" for Match formula. My Doc Provider says this means Sponsor MUST do deferral Match (supp. Match is optional) every year. If this is correct, can Sponsor stop Match only by ammendment, or never? I don't want to lock Sponsors in. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.
Guest TrustMe401k Posted September 9, 1999 Posted September 9, 1999 What is the allocated match formula? If a new plan why not use 0% and only do a supplemental every year?
Guest JBarn Posted September 13, 1999 Posted September 13, 1999 That's the problem. The Employer wants to do a Match (50% on 4%)from day 1 AND reserve the right to do a Supplemental. Does stopping the "regular" Match require an ammendment?
