Madison71 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Plan sponsor has a 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan. Plan sponsor wants to invest in real estate. I don't know the exact details of what yet. I know there a lot of caveats to having real estate in the plan, but does anyone have a good article on this? This article would talk about real estate in the plan and the step by step guide to how you do it. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
rcline46 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 ERISA attorneys make a LOT of money on this, and won't publish a step by step guide. Your client MUST hire an ERISA attorney if he wants to do this. The only advice you should give is don't do it without an attorney. If the client is hell bent on doing it then the cost of competent legal advice should not be a problem.
K2retire Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Emphasis on ERISA attorney -- not just an attorney!
