Guest Theresa Posted January 14, 2000 Posted January 14, 2000 Do QDRO's get reported on 1099-r's? Okay, what if the beneficiary rolled it to an IRA, would it be a code H? And would the 1099-R be made out to the beneficiary or the participant? [This message has been edited by Theresa (edited 01-18-2000).]
Fredman Posted January 15, 2000 Posted January 15, 2000 Depends. Was a benefit paid (check cut) to the beneficiary of the QDRO? If yes, then yes a 1099-R needs to be filed with a distribution code of 2 (exception to 10% penalty). If an account was split/segregated because of the QDRO, then the answer would be no.
