Guest HoopsForBM Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Participant born 11/1936, has received previous RMD's.....deceased 2/2010, with wife as sole benny. Is an RMD required for 2010, and how is it calculated (her age/his age)? Thanks in advance!
Tom Poje Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 yes, min distribution still due, calculated the same as any previous calc, as if there was no death. in 2011 you start using the single life on the spouse (of course following whatever terms the document may say. thats the distribution calendar year AFTER the distribution calendar year containing the employee's death. 1.401(a)(9)-5 Q-5
