retbenser Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Can the 401(k) match exceed the deferral? What is the maximum? For example: Deferral = $22,500 Can the match be $25,000? What is the maximum? Thanks.
rcline46 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 limited by 415 only. How do you get a deferral of $22,500?
Lou S. Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 limited by 415 only. How do you get a deferral of $22,500? and ACP test On the deferral I'd assume that's a typo with $16.5K + $5.5K = $22K max.

david rigby Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Can the 401(k) match exceed the deferral? A matching formula can be more than 100%. (Not very common, but it's possible.) As correctly stated, 415 and ACP limits apply. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice.
