cdavis25 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Would removal of asbestos qualify as a casualty loss for a hardship withdrawal?
Mike Preston Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Depends on plan terms. Doubtful if plan uses safe-harbor definitions.
My 2 cents Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Depends on plan terms. Doubtful if plan uses safe-harbor definitions. Just checking - by this, do you mean that if the plan uses safe-harbor definitions for hardship withdrawals, it is doubtful that asbestos removal would be a sufficient reason to approve a hardship withdrawal? Always check with your actuary first!
