Cynchbeast Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 In 2014, we obtained an EIN for a DB trust for a prospective client. In the end, they never adopted the plan. They have recently contacted us again to start a DB plan. Can or should we use the EIN we got over 4 years ago or should we apply for a new one?
Larry Starr Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Apply for a new one. Lawrence C. Starr, FLMI, CLU, CEBS, CPC, ChFC, EA, ATA, QPFC President Qualified Plan Consultants, Inc. 46 Daggett Drive West Springfield, MA 01089 413-736-2066 larrystarr@qpc-inc.com
Earl Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I don't think they will give you one. You can try and find out if they will. CBW
Larry Starr Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 They will. Just make sure you name the plan something slightly different than previously to avoid any issues. We just got one like this. Lawrence C. Starr, FLMI, CLU, CEBS, CPC, ChFC, EA, ATA, QPFC President Qualified Plan Consultants, Inc. 46 Daggett Drive West Springfield, MA 01089 413-736-2066 larrystarr@qpc-inc.com
