Cynchbeast Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 5500s now ask for a MyPAA confirmation number for plans covered by PBGC. What do you do if the plan is covered but you have no confirmation #? What if you check Not Determined? What if you force it through EFAST - will it accept it?
chc93 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Premium payment is due Oct 15. Will premium be paid on time? Have you determined that the plan is covered by PBGC?
Bri Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 It's last year's number they want, though, right? Like, for my 2017 Form 5500s I'm using the PBGC number for the 2017 filing that was due 10-15-2017, not the one due this Monday. WDIK 1
Cynchbeast Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 B Quote Bri - I believe you are right. But my question still stands - what if I don't have a number? I have a couple plans for which the filing wasn't done last year so I don't have a confirmation number.
Bri Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Ah, indeed that's not so obvious from the instructions. I would probably enter 0000000 to try to get around any validation issues, but that's nothing I'd stand behind as "correct" certainly.
Lou S. Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Can you log on to the PBGC site and download the Confirmation number? It should be in the account history. And if the plan if covered by the PBGC it begs the questions, why wasn't a filing done? Anyway good luck. As Bri suggests maybe try an all 0s or all 9s number just to get it filed and file an amended return when you get the number. Not the best idea but possibly a work around.
