NJ Harrington Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Solo 401k rolls all money in the 401k into a SEP IRA n 2019. 1099R issued, but 401k administrators does not file a Final Form 5500. Does anyone know how to correct this now?
Nate S Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 If a 5500 was never filed before, or you previously filed a 5500ez, then you would need to file a final 5500ez via https://www.irs.gov/node/51641#RP-2015-32 If you previously filed a 5500-SF, then you may use the DOL's DFVCP
Mike Preston Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Just to round out the edges you might want to confirm that there are no prior forms due.
NJ Harrington Posted February 25, 2022 Author Posted February 25, 2022 Thanks. Will check the “final return” box on Part A of Form 5500 and show “zero” remaining participants on Line 5c, but how do you reflect the transfer of money to the SEP IRA? Looking specifically at lines 6a, 6b, and 6c. Or could I just include the final statement showing $0 in the 401k account, the 1099R issued, with the Account Transfer Form showing Full Transfer of All Assets in Kind? Thanks again.

The EZ does not reconcile assets; it only asks for contributions. You can include other docs related to the plan or you can include your 3rd grade report card; same effect. Bill Presson 1 Ed Snyder
