Guest GNagler Posted October 26, 2000 Posted October 26, 2000 I am working with a governmental employer that wants to establish a 457 plan. I am aware of a group in D. C. called ICMA that does a very professional job on these plans. Can anyone give me any other entities that can establish the framework/investments for such a program? Thanks for your help.
Guest CWalker Posted November 6, 2000 Posted November 6, 2000 There are quite a few. The two largest 457 providers are PEBSCO and BenefitsCorp, run by Nationwide Insurance and Great-West Life respectively.
Guest ksadler Posted November 29, 2000 Posted November 29, 2000 VALIC is a company that you should take a look at. American General Corporation is the parent company. Email me and I will give you more information and a contact person.
Guest Scott Holechek Posted November 30, 2000 Posted November 30, 2000 Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. in Lincoln, NE also provides plan investments and services for 457 plans.
Guest bstarr@metlife.com Posted December 1, 2000 Posted December 1, 2000 ACTUALLY THE TWO LARGEST AND OLDEST PACKAGERS OF 457(B) ARE METLIFE FS AND HARTFORD FS.
MWeddell Posted December 1, 2000 Posted December 1, 2000 The 10/2/2000 issue of Pensions & Investments contains quite a bit of information on market share of defined contribution plan recordkeepers based on data reported by the recordkeepers themselves. One chart lists the number of plan sponsors that each provider has, broken down by the type of plan including 457 plans.
