Guest J. Dan Brown Posted March 29, 2001 Posted March 29, 2001 Looking for the 1970 GA Mortality table. I went to the SOA web site and loooked at their index of tables. I however, did not see a 1970 GA table. Any thoughts on where I may find one?
MGB Posted March 30, 2001 Posted March 30, 2001 I am fairly familiar with the publicly available mortality tables and have never heard of a 70 GA. Are you referring to GA=Group Annuity? (These are usually referenced by the acronym GAM.) There was a published 71GAM based on mid-60's data, projected to 1971 (the same data was projected to create the 83GAM). Perhaps what you are looking for was created by someone from that same raw data and only projected to 1970. In that case, it is not a publicly available mortality table and you would need to know from the author how they constructed it, particularly which projection scale they used and whether or not any loads were involved. The 71GAM and 83GAM, although created from the same raw data, used different projection scales and different loads.
david rigby Posted March 30, 2001 Posted March 30, 2001 Agree with MGB. There is also a version of the 1951 GA table with projection to 1970. Could that be it? I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Guest J. Dan Brown Posted April 4, 2001 Posted April 4, 2001 Thanks for the help. Yes the GA refers to Group Annuity. Someone emailed me a copy of a table that was projected to 1970. I also located some information material with our files that showed the previous factors used.
