May 6, 2020 On-Demand Webinar |
|
[Editor's note: Link is to 24 presentation slides from May 6, 2020 webinar] A new EBRI study, “Are HSA Investors Born or Made?,” found only about 6 percent of account holders invest their health savings accounts (HSAs), despite unique tax benefits extended to them. Some investors appear to be inherently prone to invest. They seem to understand the value of investing HSA funds or have been advised of the benefits of investing their balances by engaged employers and providers. Others seem to be prompted by external influences to invest. These HSA investors could be propelled to invest their balances after developing a familiarity with HSAs, learning from an effective benefits education campaign, or accumulating a balance that they feel comfortable investing. Most HSA investors who do not immediately invest transition to investing within the first three years of account ownership. This webinar will take a closer look at HSA Investor behavior, examining how education strategies during the HSA enrollment process and beyond can impact the decision to invest, ultimately improving the account holder’s retirement experience. |
