These plans will become increasingly important as the COVID-19 economic crisis continues to unfold. National Institute on Retirement Security research shows strong public support for these plans. Some 71 percent of Americans agree that state retirement plans are a good idea. And, 74 percent of working-age Americans say they would be interested in participating in these plans.
