May 26, 2021 On-Demand Webinar |
|
Please be advised that due to newly-issued guidance this event, originally scheduled for May 19, 2021, will now take place on MAY 26, 2021. The event will include discussion of the guidance issued by the IRS on May 18, 2021 in Notice 2021-31, relating to the application of Section 9501 of The American Rescue Plan Act Of 2021, which provides temporary premium assistance for COBRA continuation coverage. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you on May 26th! Please join Dannae Delano and Roberta Watson on an informative webinar tailored to cover some of the temporary but significant requirements that are in effect as a result of COVID-19. The webinar will include a discussion of the new temporary COBRA subsidy now in effect for employees who have been terminated involuntarily. This COBRA subsidy applies to employees (and their dependents) whose regular COBRA periods (usually 18 months) have not yet ended, regardless of whether they initially elected COBRA or paid COBRA premiums. The webinar will also cover the required notices that must be provided to individuals affected by these temporary COBRA changes, including the notice timing requirements, and other employer COBRA compliance logistics that are affected. Current DOL and IRS guidance, including newly issued IRS Notice 2021-31, will be covered. For employers with cafeteria plans that offer health or dependent care flexible spending accounts (“FSAs”), there are additional temporary options for carrying contributions over from one year to the next and several deadlines have been extended. Additionally, the cap on dependent care FSA expenditures has been raised significantly for 2021. This webinar will include an in-depth discussion of these developments, including the potential trap for employees trying to take full advantage of the expanded limit. During this complimentary webinar, given by some of the most sought after speakers in the country on health and welfare benefit issues, you will gain a firm grasp of what the new COVID-related provisions are and what impact they will have on employers. Dannae and Roberta will also provide practical tips for addressing these new rules. |
