The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement (SECURE) Act 2.0 offers financial professionals an unprecedented opportunity to expand their book and stack their AUM. Millions of Americans will be able to invest in a 401(k) for the first time, increase how much they set aside already, or catch up their retirement savings to meet their goals. Small business owners have more incentives than ever to start plans for employees, and many are expected to. The race to attract these new clients will be intense. Financial professionals who can deliver the most value for this new, expansive market segment are likely to be able to boost their AUM at a greater rate than they’ve seen in decades. To do that, they’ll need to understand the rule, what’s in it and how to best leverage provisions to best serve current and new clients, ultimately growing their business.
