In our "Back to Basics – Plan Eligibility" webinar, we will cover the fundamentals of welfare plan eligibility. The webinar will begin with a discussion of considerations for employers sponsoring welfare plans including plan design and compliance concerns. We will then discuss specific eligibility for employees, spouses, children, and other dependents and related considerations including who can receive benefits on a tax-favored basis. We will conclude with a discussion of eligibility audits and issues brought to the fore if ineligible participants are discovered.

  • Learn who may be eligible for benefits and when.
  • Gain knowledge about the tax implications of offering benefits to employees, tax dependents, and other individuals.
  • Explore plan eligibility and its implications through examples.
