In this webinar, our Groom attorneys will provide an update on the state of ERISA preemption with respect to group health plans and health insurance products. 

We will provide a brief overview of the basis/foundation of ERISA preemption and then discuss various litigation developments as well as state legislative efforts to regulate group health plans and various related products.  Our attorneys will also discuss recent federal legislation that has been introduced and the potential implications for the scope of ERISA preemption.  The session should provide a helpful overview of state activity as well as an analytical framework for evaluating the likelihood that a given state’s law is preempted by ERISA.
