A Pathway to Navigating TransparencyGallagher |
June 26, 2024 On-Demand Webinar |
In our Navigating the Path to Transparency webinar, we cover the transparency requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. We will cover how each law applies to different types of plans. We review the prohibition on gag clauses and the annual attestation, the prescription drug data collection reports, and surprise billing protections. We also review the transparency requirements that pertain to ID cards, network provider directories, the online self-service tool, machine-readable files, including upcoming issues such as advanced explanations of benefits. For each topic, we provide action steps for plan sponsors to ensure compliance. Speakers: Janet Downs, JD, is Division Senior Vice President, Compliance Counsel for the Benefits & Human Resources Consulting division of Gallagher. As a member of the national compliance team, Janet utilizes over two decades of experience in employee benefits to find practical solutions to complex issues confronting employers and their health and welfare plans. Prior to joining Gallagher in 2014, Janet worked for Fortune 100 companies in the energy and manufacturing sectors assisting with benefit plan compliance. Her background of working as a plan sponsor, plan administrator, and counsel provides her with multi-faceted experience to assist employers in finding commonsense solutions to comply with the myriad of benefit plan regulations. Leah Belknap Carter, JD, is Division Assistant Vice President, Compliance Counsel, for the Benefits & Human Resources Consulting division of Gallagher. Prior to joining Gallagher, Leah worked for the State of Iowa Judicial Branch with family recovery courts and for both private employers and public entities assisting with benefit plan compliance. She draws on her unique practice combination both as a leader in state regulatory advocacy and in her handling of complex client scenarios to provide her legal expertise to the Gallagher national compliance team. |
