The SECURE 2.0 Act was signed into law on December 29, 2022. Among its many provisions is a requirement taking effect in 2026 that catch-up contributions made by certain highly paid participants be made on an after-tax “Roth” basis. This seemingly modest change comes with new administrative challenges for plan sponsors and their service providers. This session will explain how these new rules will work under guidance provided by the recently released IRS proposed regulations. Additionally, we will review the higher contribution limits that are in effect for 2025 for 60-63 years old.
