A Qualified Domestic Relations Order, or QDRO, is a court order used during divorce proceedings to divide a participant’s retirement plan between the participant and a non-participant. This order is typically issued for the division of marital property, child support, or spousal support. Problems often arise with unclear division formulas, such as outdated account balances. In such cases, administrators reject the order and suggest revisions based on available data, such as adjusting division dates to align with accessible records. Clear communication from administrators helps resolve these issues efficiently. |
