Maryland’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program will require employer payroll contributions beginning January 1, 2027, and benefits will become available starting January 2028. Employers must prepare now by understanding compliance obligations, contribution rules, private plan options and communication requirements for their workforce. In this session, Sarah Hipp and Jason Petsche of Centro Benefits Research, will walk through the program structure, outline strategic choices for employers, and explain the steps organizations should take throughout 2026 to ensure a smooth transition into the new statewide paid leave environment. Moderated by Mike Schaeffer. |
