Our firm uses ftwilliam and as far as I know it can’t do restructured testing (breaking the plan into component plans and testing separately). I was wondering how other people were doing this testing? Do other software programs do it? Do you have to do the testing outside of a software program like in excel?

It's probably the only thing I'll defend ASC's admin software on, but they let you assign employees to components and test that way.  I had a DC plan where an owner's kid was younger than everyone but they at least wanted him to get the same 5% gateway floor the NHCEs got, while the owners were up at like 20%.  So Component 1 was on allocations, Component 2 was on a benefits basis.

We use Relius and similar to Bri can do it if we assign each participant to a "division" and then test by "division".  I usually do something like "cross-tested group 1" and cross tested-group 2" for the divisions.  We are in the small plan market so it's a relatively easy thing to do (add division to each person).  I also can use a DER and import divisions when I do the census import.

In FT we use the "Other" class option to exclude one component group from benefitting while testing the other component.  You can set up separate grids to save time when switching between component groups.  It is a pain because you need to print out separate reports for each testing group.

See their release on June 9, 2021.  Announcement as well as video tutorial: DC Compliance Enhancement - Non-Elective Allocation by Division

Lisa.Q, thanks for your post.  I had contacted FT a while ago regarding restructuring (pre June 2021) and prior to the enhancement using excluded classes was the recommendation.  I missed that June 2021 update.
