CLEVELAND -- aequum LLC, acting on behalf of 400 self-insured health plans and their participants, today names Brandon Heusey as national director of sales. In this position, Heusey will lead new business initiatives and expand opportunities to introduce aequum’s member advocacy services that support self-funded partners, clients and their plan members. Welcoming Brandon to the aequum tech-driven team of associates, Christine Cooper, CEO, aequum, says, “We value Brandon’s 10 years of experience in the healthcare and employee benefits industry and successful track record of identifying prospects and opportunities that will strategically support our sales objectives and future market expansion. He is a highly motivated, goal-oriented sales professional who understands the nuances of self-insurance and provides a high level of support to our growing client base.” She emphasizes that aequum is committed to providing solutions that protect its members and their dependents against unreasonable medical charges, adding, “Since our inception, aequum has successfully resolved over 10,000 claims for more than 5,000 member patients, saving over $37 million of disputed charges and earning recognition throughout the self-insured community.” Prior to joining aequum, Heusey served the mid-Atlantic region in various capacities for several organizations with a focus on self-funded reference-based pricing programs, employee benefit new client acquisition, and new business ACO health plan sales for a large national carrier. Heusey is a graduate of Temple University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in entrepreneurship studies.
