Sikich Appoints Gary Barton Jr. as DC Market Expansion Leader

CHICAGO – – Sikich, a global technology-enabled professional services company, today announced that Gary Barton Jr. will be taking over as the new Washington, D.C. Market Expansion Leader from Steve Koons. Steve will concentrate his efforts on further expanding the company’s Federal practice. In his new role, Gary will spearhead the company’s overall growth strategies in the Virginia-Washington-Maryland metro area for the company’s diverse portfolio of accounting, advisory and technology services. 

The move comes as Sikich positions itself for continued expansion across its global footprint and in the D.C. market, following the local acquisitions of the federal government practice of professional services firm CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) last year, Halt, Buzas & Powell, Ltd. in 2019 and Cotton & Company LLP in 2022. In May of this year, Sikich also secured a $250m minority investment from Bain Capital to fuel further acquisitive growth.
