LauraERPA Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Has anyone heard of the IRS's new "Retirement Plan Burden Survey" sent to randomly selected Plan Sponsors? https://www.irs.gov/statistics/rpbsurvey
david rigby Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Interesting. It has a PIN control. Can you capture some of the questions, and post here for others to read? I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
LauraERPA Posted July 31, 2024 Author Posted July 31, 2024 I was able to download the whole survey and instructions. I found it odd they specifically advised recipients not to forward to their service providers. IRS 2024 Survey.pdfIRS 2024 Survey.pdf
CuseFan Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Must be these were just released as a colleague forwarded one received by one of his clients. I circulated to our group and another colleague suggested (tongue in cheek) that maybe everyone will respond how much of a burden these are and then IRS/DOL in their infinite wisdom will significantly shorten and simplify these filings. Then after much laughter I responded "we both know the odds of that happening!" Kenneth M. Prell, CEBS, ERPA Vice President, BPAS Actuarial & Pension Services kprell@bpas.com
