Jakyasar Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 HCE deferred 35k during 2024 (over 50) thus exceeded the 402g limit by 4.5k The refund will be done prior to 3/15/2025 - does it make a difference if needs to be refunded prior to 12/31/2024? For 410b, which amount should be used? For 415(c) limit for PS purposes, is it safe to assume 69k-23k i.e. 46k allocation? The refunds will be made, that is not something to worry about. Thanks
Mr Bagwell Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I would get the distribution/correction done this year so all the 1099-Rs are done for the tax calculations. It's done and over with and you are not thinking about it in 2025.
Jakyasar Posted December 16, 2024 Author Posted December 16, 2024 That is not up to me unfortunately but I am still not sure about the amounts to use as asked.
C. B. Zeller Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 What does the plan document say? In our document, the definition of "Annual Addition" includes the following: Quote Employer contributions allocated to a Participant's Account, including Elective Deferrals, Matching Contributions, Non-Elective Contributions, Pension Contributions and Qualified Non-Elective Contributions. Employer contributions shall also include Excess Elective Deferrals, unless such amounts are distributed no later than the first April 15 following the close of the Participant's taxable year Jakyasar 1 Free advice is worth what you paid for it.
