Presenters: Mary Powell and Alaina Harwood More and more employers are considering covering GLP-1 drugs when prescribed for weight loss. These employers are balancing the near-term financial impacts of covering the drugs for weight loss with the long-term costs of untreated obesity. Yet, due to their high costs and high utilization, other employers are amending their plans to exclude the coverage of these drugs for weight loss. What things should employers consider when determining if to cover these benefits under their health plans? The following will be discussed:
